To know: conceptual and terminological apparatus, theoretical concepts and models underlying the formation of non-tariff regulation systems, their evolution, fundamental international agreements and regulations in the field of non-tariff regulation, understand its role in international trade, features of technical regulation in the EU, CIS, Eurasian Union, Ukraine, examples of non-tariff instruments in international business, the main world and Ukrainian classification systems of description and coding of goods, the regulatory environment in the field of standardization and certification of products. mechanism of using conformity assessment, features of the market surveillance system of countries.

The student must: 1. Know the theoretical concepts and models underlying the formation of non-tariff systems of the country, their evolution 2. Be able to analyze and evaluate trends, contradictions, problems of non-tariff regulation of international business 3. Possess basic skills of search and analysis of normative documents, analytical materials and sources of statistical data. 4. Know English or other foreign languages for better opportunities to get acquainted with the regulations of international organizations, individual countries.

Module 1. Non-tariff instruments for regulating international business: types and classifications. The essence and reasons for the application of non-tariff regulatory measures. Scope and content of TBT. Standardization and certification of products as tools for non-tariff regulation of international business. Technical regulations and standards, their harmonization in Ukraine. Sanitary and phytosanitary measures. Notifications in TBT and SPS. Module II. The main directions of harmonization of non-tariff regulation of Ukraine. EU policy in the field of technical regulation. Technical regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Key commitments of Ukraine on technical barriers to trade.
