Learning outcomes
Earth, other sciences and fields of knowledge with the unification of all the above areas with thematic cartography as a basis for conducting problem-oriented research through the creation and use of appropriate types and types of maps; - identify the information resources necessary for mapping, assess their quality and features of application in the process of creating maps; - to study the features of using methods and techniques in problem-oriented mapping; - to reveal the basic principles of construction and the main features of regional GIS, designed to study various problems and situations; - to study the features of the content of problem-oriented cartographic works of various territorial levels and purposes, which are created using modern mapping tools;

Successful mastery of professionally oriented disciplines of the first year of study in a master's degree program.
Course content
The curriculum of the academic discipline consists of the following content modules: 1. “Current trends in geoinformation mapping: theoretical and methodological developments”. 2. “Creation / use of cartographic works focused on solving significant problems of today”.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- current (semester) assessment (practical work (minimum score 24, maximum 40; tests (6 – 10); independent work (5 – 10)); – summary (final) assessment in the form of a test (grade for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); grade for the practical part (13 – 20). For students who scored a total of fewer points than the critical calculation minimum of 35 points, in order to be admitted to the final control form, it is mandatory to submit an additional completed individual complex task.
Assessment methods and criteria
The formation of the assessment is based on the "Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv", put into effect by Order No. 716-32 of August 31, 2022.
