Learning outcomes
Know: Modern methods of development and exploitation of mineral deposits; geological and industrial classification of mineral deposits; types, methods and technologies of mineral extraction
Be able to: Use the acquired knowledge to determine the feasibility of mining and areas of mineral use; prepare preliminary technological schemes for the development of deposits and mining.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of general geology, mineralogy and other related geological disciplines. Possession of information about the mineral composition and conditions of formation of rocks and ores.
Course content
The discipline program outlines basic information about the mining and geological cycle and methods of developing mineral deposits depending on their genetic types, conditions of their formation, chemical and mineral composition, as well as the use of minerals, in particular, ferrous, non-ferrous, noble, rare, rare-earth, radioactive metals and non-metallic minerals.

lectures, laboratory classes, independent work of students.
Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: completing tasks of independent and laboratory work (where students must demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the assigned tasks using the methods and means outlined by the teacher) and conducting a written modular test. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a written test.
