Learning outcomes
Know: Features of the emergence and development of the classification of mineral reserves in different regions of the world. Requirements for determining mineral reserves and resources according to the State Subsoil Fund of Ukraine, the UNFC, CRIRSCO, JORC, energy and mineral reserves and re-sources. Differences in the stages of geological study in domestic and international practice. Determi-nation of reserves and resources of hydrocarbon raw materials in the hydrocarbon resource manage-ment system of the Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE.
Be able to: Determine the complexity groups of the geological structure of individual subsoil areas and assess the reliability of geological information. Determine the degree of geological and technical and economic study of subsoil areas and justify the methods of search, evaluation and exploration work that are advisable to carry out. Use modern international classifications of mineral reserves and re-sources.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic principles of reserve inventory and classification, statistical analysis and mathematical methods in geology. Have skills in working with geological sections, large-scale maps and plans of mineral reserves calculation, spreadsheets and other data sources.
Course content
Introduction to the main features of the systematization of geological information on mineral reserves and their distribution to various classes, groups and categories. The features of determining the probability of assessment and the degree of geological study, the status of geological exploration projects, the industrial significance of reserves are highlighted. The classifications of reserves of solid minerals and hydrocarbon raw materials are considered separately. The features of the application of the CRIRSCO, International Framework Classification for Mineral Reserves and Resources (UNFC), SRE-PRMS and others are studied. Students acquire practical skills in analyzing the results of geolog-ical exploration at various stages of subsoil development.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars and practical classes, independent work of the student
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a scale of 100 points. The evaluation is carried out according to the accumulative system and provides: 2 tests, each of which is evaluated at 10 points (a minimum of 6 points). The 40 points (a minimum of 24 points) are allocated for work in practical classes and seminars. The final assessment is an exam (maximum 40 points, marginal 24 points). The final grade is given based on the results of the student's work during semester, as the sum of points for systematic work in seminar classes, the results of tests and the study of lecture material, and the points obtained during the exam.
