Learning outcomes
Know: general laws of structure and structure of the tectonosphere, development of the main structural elements of the lithosphere (continental platforms, geosynclines, orogeny, continental rifts, and oceans), the main stages of structural evolution of the Earth, tectonic processes and evolution of magmatism, structural evolution of the continents and oceans, endogenous metallogeny and its connection with the tectonic development of the Earth.
Be able to: to assess the role of tectonic structures of different types and ranks in the formation of miner-al deposits; to characterize the peculiarities of the structure of ancient platforms and geosynclinals-folded belts, to explain the peculiarities of the origin of the oceans; to characterize the structural evolution of the Earth.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Mastering information from the courses of general geology, geomorphology, stratigraphy, historical ge-ology, mineralogy, and petrography.
Course content
The general questions of modern geotectonics, ideas about the composition and structure of the main structural elements of the earth's crust (continental platforms, moving belts and geosynclines, epige-osynclinal and epiplatform orogens, rifts, oceans, etc.), the laws of their analysis of development as a geological assessment of territories is reviewed. Numerous examples of specific geological structures are give

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars and independent work of the student
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a scale of 100 points. The evaluation is car-ried out according to the accumulative system and provides: 2 tests, each of which is evaluated at 30 points (a minimum of 18 points). The final assessment is an test (maximum 40 points, marginal 24 points). The final grade is based on the results of the student's work over a period of semester, as the sum of points for systematic work in seminars, the results of tests and knowledge of lecture information, and points obtained during the test.
