Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To formulate, analyze and synthesize solutions of scientific and practical problems. PLO 7. To choose effective methods of economic activity management, to justify the proposed solutions based on relevant data and scientific and applied research. PLO 8. To collect, process and analyze statistical data, scientific and analytical materials necessary for solving complex economic problems, carrying out of consulting activity. PLO 12. To justify management decisions on the effective development of business entities, taking into account goals, resources, limitations and risks.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know: the basics of economic theory, the mechanism of enterprise functioning, basic categories of accounting, the basics of economic analysis. 2. Be able to: perform calculations in MS Excel, prepare and arrange information using MS Word, prepare presentations using appropriate computer programs (MS PowerPoint), confidently use Internet resources, search for necessary information, work with regulatory legal acts and analyze their content
Course content
The discipline «Finance for non-financial managers» is a compulsory discipline and occupies an important place in the structure of the educational and professional program «Business Consulting». The program of the discipline consists of two content modules: 1. «Accounting and reporting» – the content and significance of the principles of accounting and financial reporting are considered. Modern approaches to the formation of reporting systems are presented. The methodology of annual financial reporting, the practice of financial reporting by well-known companies is given. The issues of managing the financial activities of the company with the help of reporting systems are considered. 2. «Analysis of financial statements» – the main financial ratios are considered – indicators of profitability, business activity, financial stability and liquidity. The content of methods of analysis of financial statements, approaches to the interpretation of indicators as the basis for assessing business performance is revealed. The issues of using reporting to analyze the results of the company are covered. Financial planning and budgeting systems are studied. The technology of budgeting is provided.
