Familiarization with the problems of political regimes and modern political systems, expansion and consolidation of knowledge about the types of political regimes and features of their functioning in the modern world, the structure of political systems, its functioning. that will allow students to understand and navigate the important and complex processes of life in the world and the relationship between social, political, economic, cultural systems.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic concepts of political science, the main events and phenomena of political life in the world; be able to collect and process information on theoretical and practical issues, work with scientific and journalistic material, analyze and compare this material; have basic skills of scientific research, information gathering, and use of scientific primary sources.
Course content
1. Political regime as a subject of study. 2. Discourse of totalitarianism. 3.Totalitarianism: origins and essence. 4.Varieties of totalitarianism. 5.Authoritarianism as a political regime. 6.The main types of authoritarianism in the modern world. 7.Features of political transit. 8.Hybrid regimes. 9.Democracy as a political regime. 10.The place of systematic policy analysis in science.

Evaluation criteria for independent work.
