Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of theoretical foundations of mathematics, physics and geophysical methods.
Course content
The course focuses on the basics of vector analysis. Scalar and vector fields, their classification and definitions are considered. Gravitational and permanent magnetic fields are mathematically characterized, including inverse problems in potential field theory and examples of solving inverse problems in potential fields. Electromagnetic field vectors, electric charges and currents are characterized. The basic equations of an alternating electromagnetic field are explained. The electromagnetic field energy and alternating electromagnetic fields in homogeneous media are considered.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes and independent work of students.
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the module-rating system and involves 6 practical works and 2 written module tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam. The maximum score is 40 points, the cut-off score is 24 points. During the exam, the applicant writes a test and answers questions. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
