Prerequisites and co-requisites
General theoretical training acquired within the framework of bachelor's degree programs. 1. Before starting this course, master's students should know: the basic methods of linguistic research in accordance with the basic level of bachelor's degree. 2. be able to explain the specifics of the main general scientific and specialized linguistic research methods, provided by the bachelor's course. 3. Possess basic skills to organize and conduct independent research, observing the requirements for the preservation of of intellectual property.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with knowledge and skills that create the necessary organizational and legal basis for the implementation of professional research work, its presentation to the scientific community, protection and commercialization of intellectual property rights to its results; development of students' skills to solve various research problems, build research tasks, build a system of research search, navigate in directions of modern philological studies, use various methods of linguistic and/or literary studies; formation of an appropriate level of theoretical training of students for further research within the framework of the master's thesis. Annotation of the course The subject of the discipline is the modern methodology of science, a set of methodological tools of science, in particular philology, as well as intellectual property rights and commercialization of the results of intellectual activity.

Teaching methods: lectures, independent work, seminars. Learning activities: oral answer, presentation / report / mini-project (individual or team) / abstract, final test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Oral answer: RN1.1-1.2, 2.1-2.2, 3.1-3.2, 4.1-4.2 - 50/80 points. 2. Presentation / report / mini-project (individual or team) / abstract: ELO1.1-. 1.2, 2.1, 3.1-3.2, 4.1-4.2 - 3/5 points. 5. Final control work: RN1.1-1.2, 2.1, 3.1-3.2 - 7/15 points. The semester number of points is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering material from the entire course. The total grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on theoretical material to prepare for the classroom: oral presentations, additions and participation in discussions at seminars, quizzes, tests) and for independent work (preparation of presentations / reports/mini-projects). The discipline ends with a test. The total number of points in the discipline (60/100 points) is determined as the sum of points for work during the semester.
