Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language, which were taught during six semesters of study: ‘Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language’, ‘Fundamentals of the Theory of Linguistic Communication”, ‘Stylistics of the Ukrainian Language’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language’, ‘Introduction to Linguistics’, ‘Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language’, ‘History of Ukrainian Literature’, ‘Linguistic and Regional Studies of the Ukrainian Language’, ‘Practice of Written and Oral Translation’, ‘The Word as an Information Source about People’s Culture and Worldview’, ‘Universal and National -specific in Ukrainian Language Grammar’.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form a systematic understanding of the Ukrainian language phraseological fund, the main trends of modern phraseology development and the principles of phraseological units’ organization, to expand and deepen knowledge about the pragmatic conditions for phraseological units use in speech, to improve the skills and abilities of in-depth linguistic analysis of phraseological units in functional and parametric aspect. The discipline forms a holistic, based on modern scientific concepts, understanding of the Ukrainian language phraseological fund, principles of phraseological units’ organization, expands and deepens knowledge about the use of phraseological units in speech pragmatic conditions, improves the skills and abilities of Ukrainian language phraseological units’ theoretically based semantic, etymological and linguocultural analysis.
