PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, Spanish and English. PLO 21. Interpret, summarize, annotate, and adequately translate oral and written texts of various styles and genres from Spanish, English, and Ukrainian languages, excluding highly specialized texts. PLO 22. Utilize knowledge of the history and culture of Ukraine and linguocultural studies of Spanish- and English-speaking countries to facilitate successful communication and accurate translation. PLO 23. Demonstrate the ability to identify and analyze the specifics of the communicative situation in translation and its impact on translation decisions., PLO 27.2, PLO 28.2.

Full-time form

1. Knowledge of Spanish at least B1+/B2 level. 2. Basic skills in translation and interpretation of non-specialized texts from Spanish into Ukrainian. 3. Basic skills of translation text analysis.

It is a specialized discipline and is part of the free choice block “Specialized Translation and Interpreting (Spanish, English)”. It promotes the acquisition of basic knowledge and skills of translation in the A-B direction. It teaches you how to solve grammatical and lexical-grammatical problems relevant to this area of translation. in translation, develops skills of searching for lexical equivalents in a foreign language with a focus on their sectoral nature and overcoming genre and style problems in the translation of special in the translation of specialized texts. Languages of instruction, teaching and assessment are Spanish and Ukrainian.

Assessment methods: written assignments (translation and abstracting of specialized texts, written exercises on translation techniques, comparative analysis of parallel texts), oral translation of specialized texts (abstract translation, translation from a sheet), test (translation commentary, written translation), exam. In particular, written assignments: WT 1.3; WT 2.1; WT 2.2; WT 2.3; WT 4.1; WT 4.2; min. 18 points; max. 30 points; performing tasks on interpreting special texts (abstract translation, translation from a sheet): PH 2.4; PH 3; PH 4.1; min. 6 points; max. 10 points; test (translation commentary, written translation): RN 1.1; RN 1.2; RN 1.3; RN 2.1; RN 2.2; RN 2.3; RN 4.2; min. 12 points; max. 20 points; exam : PH 1.1; PH 1.2; PH 1.3; PH 2.1; PH 2.2; PH 2.3; PH 2.4; PH 3; PH 4.2; min. 24 points; max. 40 points.
