Peculiarities of searching for information on the Internet. Three basic ways of searching for information on the Internet. Variety of search engines and their features. Components of the architecture of search engines. The history of their evolution of search engines. Dictionary of terms. Features of search engines. The main components of the search engine. Peculiarities of search engine operation. Search engine indexing process. Variety of search engines. Features of functioning and multimedia technologies used in search engines: Wandex, Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. Features and implementation of SEO optimization for various search engines. The concept of SEO optimization. The main advantages of SEO optimization. The main components and directions of SEO optimization. Factors influencing issuance. The concept of relevance and ranking. Types and metrics of external optimization.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying the discipline "Multimedia technologies", students need to learn the material of the courses "Higher mathematics" (1-2 semesters), "Programming" (1-2 semesters), in order to work freely with the available information and literary sources, students need to take the course "English language" (1-2 semesters).
Course content
Discipline "Multimedia technologies" is necessary for students to master SEO optimization technologies, understand the basics of search engine architecture, the ability to navigate in modern specialized search engines, as well as knowledge of basic and advanced tools of the most popular search engines related to automation, system administration and security.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment forms: Semester evaluation: The discipline lasts one academic semester. The form of control is the offset. Completion of 2 control papers is mandatory for admission to credit. Each test work is evaluated at a maximum of 30 points. Summative final assessment in the form of credit: the form of credit is oral. For credit, you can get a maximum of 40 points. Conditions for admission to the final assessment: the condition for admission to the assessment is that the student receives a total of no less than the critical-calculated minimum for the semester, 30 points. students who, during the semester, scored less points than the critical-calculated minimum of 30 points must complete an additional individual task in order to be admitted to the credit. In the case of a student's absence due to valid reasons, the re-handing of test papers is carried out in accordance with the "Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at the Kyiv National University".
