PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of languages and literature being studied, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 9. Characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Ukrainian language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (foreign) languages. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folkloristics, linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Full-time form

Before studying this discipline, a student should know: genus-species division of literature; basic literary theoretical concepts necessary for the implementation of literary analysis. The student must possess the following basic skills and abilities: determining the special place of the ancient and Western European literary tradition (the periods of Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the 17th century, the Enlightenment, the 19th-20th centuries) in the world literary continuum; carrying out an analytical reading of individual works of the specified periods.

The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the history of the literary process in Western Europe (from antiquity to the end of the 20th century). Abstract. The educational discipline is aimed at forming students' system of knowledge on the history of the literary process of Western Europe. The tasks of the course are: determination of features of the formation and development of ancient literature; delineation of the specifics of literature in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance; distinguishing the artistic trends of baroque and classicism within the literary process of the 17th century; highlighting the characteristic features of the literary process of the Age of Enlightenment; elucidation of the main tendencies of the literary process of the 19th and 20th centuries; familiarization with the work of prominent representatives of the literature of each era; formation of literary analysis skills.

The following forms of teaching are planned within the course: lectures, seminars, independent work. Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (oral report, addition, blitz survey, participation in discussions).

The final grade for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the current control and does not involve additional measures of final evaluation. Forms of ongoing control include answers to seminar classes (max 35/min 21 points), writing an intermediate control paper (max 20/min 12 points), preparation of a creative work (max 10/min 6 points) and writing a final control paper (max 35/ min 21 points). In total, the final control forms are max 100/min 60 points. Students who did not score at least 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing a final test.

Ukrainian Language
