To know the basic theoretical and applied aspects of hydrogeological and engineering-geological research, modern methods and techniques of scientific hydrogeological and engineering-geological research, the sequence of scientific research in solving specific problems. Be able to correctly determine the necessary hydrogeological parameters and indicators, make sound conclusions based on the results of data processing of field and laboratory studies, independently determine the scientific research sequence and priority

Knowledge of the general geological cycle disciplines, hydrogeology and engineering geology disciplines, as well as the basics of economical geology

The main attention is paid to the development of undergraduates' propensity for scientific research and gaining practical experience of independent performance of tasks. Possible ways and methods of solving scientific problems in hydrogeology and engineering geology are considered. Under the example of master's theses, master's students get acquainted with the basic methodological principles and research methods used in world practice. Much attention is paid to acquaintance with modern methods of geological information mathematical processing and interpretation. Various forms of scientific research results approbation and presentation are considered
