Learning outcomes
Knowledge: - applied problems of mineralogy and their classification; - the main typomorphic features of individual minerals in relation to the general directions of development of applied mineralogy; - methods of sample preparation and methods of applied research of minerals; - principles of thermobarometric and thermobarogeochemical research; - the possibility of using geochemical modeling in solving applied problems of mineralogy; - the importance of geochemistry of through accessory minerals in terrigenous mineralogical research; - Features of mineralogical mapping of various complexes of rocks and ore objects; - methods of mineralogical research. Skills: - independently set the task of the study; - independently choose research methods depending on the task; - use the obtained theoretical information to interpret the obtained data Understanding of personal responsibility for personal decision of the part a common task.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of general geology, crystallography, mineralogy, petrography, lithology, general geochemistry, geochemistry of rare and scattered elements. 2. Have a clear idea of modern methods of studying mineral matter. 3. Ability to analyze and think logically.
Course content
This discipline considers: - the place of applied mineralogy in the system of geological disciplines; - typomorphism of minerals and methods of research of separate typomorphic signs; - thermobarometry and thermobarogeochemistry of endogenous processes; - methods of solving certain genetic, exploratory and technological problems. The task of the discipline is to train specialists who have mastered the theoretical principles and methods of using mineralogical information for other geological disciplines, as well as processing industry from the standpoint of typomorphism of minerals that are industrial or important as a source of information about geological processes, including ore formation .

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, laboratory practical training, personal independent student work.
Assessment methods and criteria
1. Semester assessment: 1) Test work from the content module 1: max - 15, min - 9 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the test). 2) Test work from the content module 2: max - 15, min - 9 points. The final assessment may include the results of surveys - current (during lectures) and additional (after checking the test). 3) 5 laboratory works are estimated in the sum: max - 30, min - 18 points. 2. Final assessment in the form of an exam: (mandatory exam in writing): max - 40 points, min - 24 points. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. A student is not allowed to take the final grade in the form of an exam if he scored less than 36 points during the semester
