Learning outcomes
- Know the theoretical foundations of geodesy, higher and engineering geodesy, topographic and thematic mapping, compilation and updating of maps, remote sensing of the Earth and photogrammetry, land management, real estate evaluation and land cadastre. - Know the regulatory and legal principles of ensuring the issues of rational use, protection, accounting and assessment of land at the national, regional, local and economic levels, procedures for state registration of land plots, other real estate objects and restrictions on their use. -Use methods of collecting information in the field of geodesy and land management, its systematization and classification in accordance with the assigned design or production task. - Process the results of geodetic measurements, topographic and cadastral surveys, geological geomorphological studies using geo-information technologies and computer software and database management systems.

Course content
The discipline "Cartographic design" occupies one of the basic places in the training of a specialist with a master's degree, as it is a discipline that provides and deepens knowledge of the basics of using the language of graphic communication in the process of creating drawings, plans, maps, presentations and other types of graphics. Task: - to acquaint students with the experience of world and national design activities; - to determine the main principles of world and national design; - disclosure of patterns of design evolution; - acquaintance with examples of creativity of the most famous design masters; - show students the peculiarities of the process of creating graphic works and cartographic design; - demonstrate to students the signs of quality design and possible design errors - provide information on the main functions and characteristic features of design types; - acquisition of necessary methodical and practical skills by students - formation of experience in creating systems of graphic design of cartographic works

Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves: performing creative work "cartographic design", performing an essay and presentations, performance of 1 module work (where students have to demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the tasks using the outlined ones methods and tools by the teacher). Final assessment is conducted in written form test.
