Learning outcomes
Collect, evaluate, interpret and use geospatial data, metadata on objects of natural and man-made origin, apply statistical methods of their analysis to solve specialized problems in the field of geodesy and land management. Select and apply tools, equipment, hardware and software required for remote, terrestrial, field and in-house surveys in the field of geodesy and land management. Plan complex professional activities, develop and implement projects in the field of geodesy and land management under resource and other constraints. Apply models, methods and data of physics, ecology, mathematics, geology, hydrogeology in the study of natural and social processes of formation and development of land resources and real estate as objects of evaluation.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better master the educational material of the discipline, students must have knowledge and skills in the field of geoinformatics and computer technology, GIS, remote sensing, databases, programming, systems analysis
Course content
The discipline "GIS in natural resources management" allows you to gain knowledge on planning, development of design strategies using GIS, practical management and implementation of projects on natural resources. The course takes into account current trends, existing standards and approaches and methodology for natural resource management. It aims to consider the features of planning and project management, the creation of systems that operate on the basis of geographic information technologies in nature management. An important component of this discipline is the study of methodology for planning and project management using GIS on the example of specific tasks for natural resources.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
lectures, practical and seminar classes, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: performance of 10 practical and seminar works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher) and 6 written modular tests. Assessment in the 7th semester involves an intermediate control, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work during the 7th semester. There is no separate form of control at the end of the 7th semester. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam conducted in the 8th semester.
