Course content
The discipline "Spatial modeling and analysis of geological data in GIS" occupies one of the basic places in the structural-logical scheme of training a specialist at the educational and qualification level "master of geology, teacher of a higher educational institution", as it is a discipline that comprehensively analyzes the state of the geological environment based on information modeling, determines important interrelationships between its individual components based on spatial models and forms basic skills in using special GIS software tools. Thus, the discipline illuminates modern directions of geological science based on the geo-informational approach and creates a foundation for conducting analytical studies of geological processes and structures. At the same time, this course is aimed at deepening the knowledge and skills of geological students regarding the use of GIS software for geological modeling. It prepares students to create GIS-based conceptual models, develop geological information databases, and analyze spatially referenced data.
