Know: stages of geological and techno-economic study of the subsoil, stages of geological and economic assessment, concept of reserves and resources of minerals and methods of their determination, classification of reserves and resources of solid minerals and hydrocarbons, factors that determine the industrial value of mineral deposits, concepts on indicators and parameters of conditions for mineral raw materials, methods of calculating reserves of solid minerals and hydrocarbon raw materials, methods valuation of mineral reserves. Be able to: calculate by various methods the number of forecast and prospective resources of the allocated area, choose and substantiate the conditions for counting reserves in accordance with the chosen method of calculation and the complexity of the geological structure of the deposit, carry out the calculation of reserves by the methods of geological and operational blocks, geological sections and horizontal plans.

Full-time form

Successful completion of the course "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics", "Geoinformation Systems in Earth Sciences" or similar in content.

Within the framework of the educational discipline, there is an introduction to the concepts of reserves and resources, stages and stages and technical and economic study of the subsoil, factors that determine the industrial value of deposits, conditions for mineral raw materials, methods of counting reserves, economic and cost assessment of deposits, study and economic assessment of geological space , international standards for the valuation of subsoil.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work

The control is carried out according to the module-rating system and provides: performance of 7 practical works (where students have to demonstrate quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), performing 5 independent practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks without limiting tools and techniques) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written oral exam.
