Prerequisites and co-requisites
Mastering the disciplines "General and historical geology", "Higher mathematics"
Course content
The educational discipline "Modeling of geological processes and structures" highlights modern trends in the analysis of the state of the geological environment and creates a foundation for conducting fundamental analytical research from the standpoint of system analysis. This discipline provides knowledge about the principles and methods of creating different-scale models of the geological environment, general issues of stochastic and deterministic modeling in geology, acquiring skills for processing geological information based on the use of special software. General methods of data analysis and spatial modeling in GIS are presented. A description of the main concepts of the stress-strain state of the geological environment and the main methods of its determination are given. Quantitative analysis of influencing factors on the stress-strained state of natural and man-made systems is carried out using special software modules.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
lectures and practical classes, independent work of applicants.
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the exam is held after the completion of the entire discipline. The maximum score for the exam is 40 points, the final score is 24 points. The evaluation for the semester in the academic discipline is calculated taking into account the evaluations for 2 module control papers and practical papers in the sum of 60 points.
