Apply models, methods and data of physics, chemistry, biology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural processes of formation and development of geospheres.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the properties and regularities of the development of the geographical envelope, the course of exogenous and endogenous processes and the consequences of such processes, to have an understanding of the natural complex and its features, human influence on the environment and the consequences of such influence at the global, regional and local levels. 2. To be able to apply the cartographic method and the method of observation, compare and compare natural objects, processes and phenomena, make generalizations, consistently analyze the natural conditions of the studied territories, evaluate their changes as a result of human economic activity.
Course content
The educational discipline "Physical Geography of Continents and Oceans" is devoted to the examination of natural conditions and the study of the patterns of development of individual parts of the geographical envelope - continents and oceans. The characteristics of the studied territories are revealed sequentially, starting from the peculiarities of their geographical location and coastal zone and ending with physical and geographical zoning with the selection and description of natural complexes of subglobal and regional levels of dimensions (natural belts, zones, subzones, countries and regions).
