Course content
Botany is a basic biological discipline that studies algae, higher plants and fungi as objects of activity for a wide range of biologists. Its place in the system of other biological disciplines is most consistent with the concept of plants and fungi as a material for a wide range of biological research, similar to animals in zoology, and partly bacteria and viruses in microbiology. The subject of the discipline is the concepts, principles and methods, classification systems and theories of algology, mycology, botany of higher plants. In the course of studying the discipline the practical application and importance of certain methods, concepts and systems in science and other spheres of social activity (agriculture, biotechnology, search for new plant resources, production of raw materials of plant origin, life safety, nature protection, sustainable models development of nature and society, education, etc.).
