Course content
The discipline "Fundamentals of environmental law" provides a systematic understanding of the content of the requirements of environmental legislation and providing future specialists-geographers with the necessary amount of knowledge regarding the application of its provisions in their practical activities. Environmental law studies the set of environmental and legal norms that regulate environmental relations for the purpose of effective use, reproduction, protection of natural resources, ensuring the quality of the natural environment, guaranteeing environmental safety, and implementing the protection of environmental rights.
Ecological and nature protection legislation of Ukraine is in the process of formation, and its development is a primary and urgent task of modern science, where the natural component provides a reasonable approach taking into account the features of the natural environment and its individual components. In the course of study, students get acquainted with the content of the Ukrainian ecological doctrine, the provisions of national and regional environmental programs, the requirements of related branches of legislation regarding the protection and preservation of natural resources. In the process of providing, using, extracting, redistributing various natural objects, performing other actions, land, water, forest, fauna and other types of ecological relations arise, which are regulated by the relevant existing legal acts.

Assessment methods and criteria
Interviews in oral and/or written form, tests, exam. The final assessment (exam) is conducted in written form. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 26 points. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points must resubmit those types of work for which they received a grade lower than the permissible minimum. The recommended minimum for admission is 34 points.
