Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully master the knowledge of the discipline "Gender and Geography", students must:
have basic knowledge of courses in social geography, economic geography, labor geography, quality of life of the population, sustainable development, urban and regional development management;
to be able to analyze social and economic processes in society, identify their features, causes and evaluate consequences;
to possess modern quantitative and qualitative methods of research, to be able to apply them in scientific and research activities;
to be able to apply modern principles of sustainable development for drawing up strategic plans and programs for the socio-economic development of cities and regions.
Course content
The educational discipline is dedicated to studying the conceptual foundations of gender geography and spatial aspects of gender disparities and gender culture. Separate components of the discipline are the study of spatial differentiation of gender stereotypes, manifestations of gender violence, gender discrimination in public administration, the political sphere, the educational sphere, and the labor market.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work, practical classes, presentation, discussion, solving specific problems and situations.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current control of the discipline is carried out during practical classes and aims to check the level of knowledge assimilation and the student's readiness to perform individual creative tasks in the discipline. According to the evaluations of the current control and the results of the thematic control works, the sum of points is set for a separate content part. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical-calculation minimum (30 points) for both substantive parts must complete an additional independent task (preparation of an essay or an analytical-calculation task) in order to be admitted to the credit.
Final (semester) control of students' knowledge of the discipline - written assessment. The maximum number of points based on the results of the assessment is 40 points.
