PR02. Apply your knowledge to identify and solve problematic issues and make informed decisions in the Earth sciences. PR05. Plan and carry out scientific experiments, write scientific papers by specialty. PR07. To know modern methods of research of the Earth and its geospheres and to be able to apply them in production and research activities. PR12. Model geospheric objects and processes, using cartographic and mathematical methods and geoinformation technologies. PR13. Identify and classify known and register new objects in geospheres, their properties, phenomena and processes inherent in them.

Successful mastering of the disciplines taught at the Department of Geodesy and Cartography (Bachelor's level).

Master's qualification work is an important part of the educational process and independent research activity. It is evaluated by the examination committee based on the level and quality of the conducted research (taking into account the feedback of the scientific supervisor), the report, answers to questions, the ability to conduct a scientific discussion during the defense.

The defense of the qualification work takes place in public at a meeting of the examination commission. A mandatory prerequisite for admission to the defense of a master's thesis is the approval of research results and main conclusions at scientific conferences or their publication in scientific publications. The master's work is performed on the basis of the study of normative, methodical, special scientific literature of domestic and foreign publications on the topic of research, as well as reporting materials of enterprises, necessary statistical data, etc.

The assessment of the student's master's thesis is carried out by the Examination Committee and is a differentiated indicator based on the results of the examination: - the actual master's thesis as a completed and appropriately designed student research work; - personal abilities of the student, revealed during the defense of his work. Master's work is evaluated in points. The overall grade is calculated as the sum of the points received by the student during the defense of the work, taking into account the coefficients and according to the national scale. When evaluating a master's thesis, the Examination Board cannot take into account the student's overall current academic performance. The final grade is set as the arithmetic average of the grades given by the Chairman and members of the EC.
