The experience and assessment of creating atlases is summarized. The historical retrospective of atlas cartography is considered. The second "Design and layout of atlases" reveals the issue of design and layout of a cartographic work - an atlas: methods and stages of design, structural features, types of visual aids and legends, features of generalization, coordination of atlas maps.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current (semester) assessment (practical papers (minimum grade 18, maximum 36; control papers (3-7); independent work (5-10)). Final (final) assessment in the form of an exam (assessment for theoretical knowledge (minimum 12, maximum 20 points); assessment for the practical part (13-20)). For students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 35 points, for admission to the final control form, it is necessary to pass an additionally completed individual complex task.
