To know: the essence and components of regional development; foreign and domestic theories of regional development; factors and indicators of economic development of the region; components and indicators of social development of the region; tasks, functions and features of regional development management; features of developing and implementing marketing strategies for regional development; features of implementing regional policy tasks, etc.

1. knowledge of the theoretical foundations of public geography, social geography, economic geography, planning theory and practice, methods of collecting and processing geographic information;
2. be able to evaluate and analyze the components of spatial development of territories;
3. possess spatial planning skills, methods of socio-geographical research.
Course content
The academic discipline "Regional Development and Regional Policy" is dedicated to the study of theoretical and applied principles of regional development; modern directions and tasks of regional policy. It highlights the main directions and features of regional development, applied aspects of regional policy in Ukraine. The discipline is aimed at forming in students special professional competencies, skills and knowledge regarding regional development and implementation of regional policy tasks. The components of the discipline are the study of theoretical and methodological foundations of regional development and regional policy, features of planning and forecasting of regional development, mechanisms for implementing regional policy tasks in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material of the two content parts, answers in seminar classes, performing individual creative works and writing tests upon completion of the content parts.
Assessment is carried out throughout the semester of all types of work, including answers in seminar classes, independent work and performing individual creative tasks. During the semester, thematic tests are conducted in written form (tests and questions with detailed answers) after completing the consideration of the relevant topics. The acquisition of knowledge and skills by students is also assessed during their speeches in seminars, participation in discussions, and preparation of independent creative works on given topics. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a written exam
