Learning outcomes
Know: the essence and content of urban land use planning and land assessment; features of urban land use, development of urban land use by property rights, socio-economic functions of urban land use; regulatory and legal support for the development of urban land use; mechanism of functioning of the state land cadastre, etc. To be able to: apply critical thinking, analysis and synthesis of information on urban land use planning and land assessment, search, process and analyze information from various sources; apply urban planning tools in the urban land use system, identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of urban land use and land assessment, carry out planning and forecasting of regional land use schemes and land management schemes, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Theory and Practice of Planning", "Human Geography", "World Geography: Cities and Regions", "Cartography", "Introduction to Urban Studies".
2. Possess elementary skills in spatial development analysis.
3. Know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, be able to apply them in scientific research activities.
Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to the study of theoretical and methodological principles of urban land use planning and land valuation, practical skills in developing urban land use plans, normative monetary valuation of lands, expert monetary valuation of land plots. The discipline is aimed at forming in students special professional, social and personal competencies, accumulation of knowledge on the theoretical foundations of urban land use planning and land valuation, land management, information base of monetary valuation, urban planning and land management documentation in valuation. Separate components of the discipline are the study of normative monetary valuation of lands, monetary valuation of lands of settlements. The block of expert monetary valuation of land plots involves mastering methodological approaches based on comparing the sale prices of similar land plots, mastering the mechanisms of income and cost approaches in valuation.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures, practical classes, solving specific tasks and situations, and individual assignments are provided. The discipline ends with a written exam.
Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were obtained when evaluating work in practical classes and performing thematic tests.
Assessment organization: Work in practical classes is assessed upon completion, in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. After completing the relevant topics, thematic written tests are conducted in the form of tests with open questions.
