Learning outcomes
Applying knowledge of urban planning and transformation of urban space in practical situations; conducting research on the organization and transformation of space in specific cities at the appropriate level using information and communication technologies; integrating the results of field observations in cities with the theory of urban planning and social geography, recognizing, registering individual processes of change in urban space and their synthesis, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful study of the academic disciplines "Introduction to Urban Studies", "Theory and Practice of Planning" and "Training Practice in Field Urban Research".
Course content
This educational component is designed to consolidate in practice the acquired theoretical knowledge regarding the formation of the planning structure of cities and spatial transformations of urban space. Within the framework of the educational professional-oriented practice, students acquire competence in the analysis and development of urban planning documentation, recording and assessing changes in various types of urban space. In terms of content, the practice includes three components: 1) search, analysis and generalization of planning documentation and databases on socio-spatial transformations in cities; 2) familiarization with the planning structure of cities, the development of individual microdistricts in the central, semi-peripheral and peripheral parts of cities, modern processes of transformation of the urban environment; 3) meetings with specialists from city centers/institutions (urban development), local governments, urban public activists, and representatives of the expert community.

Assessment methods and criteria
The work is assessed in the process and based on the results of the implementation of the practical tasks, in accordance with the schedule of its implementation. The results of the training, provided that they are mastered at the appropriate level, are assessed as follows: 1. Oral interview - from 5 to 10 points. 2. Verification of the implementation of individual and group practical tasks, interim reporting - from 5 to 20 points. 3. Verification of the written report - from 11 to 40 points. 4. Oral defense of the practical report - from 15 to 30 points.
