Learning outcomes
To develop knowledge about the evolution of Ukraine's socio-geographical complex at specific historical stages and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice; to cultivate the ability to search for, process, and analyze historical and geographical information from various sources; to foster the ability to preserve and enrich the moral, cultural, and scientific values and achievements of Ukrainian society based on an understanding of its history and development patterns; and to develop the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the fundamental characteristics, processes, history, and composition of nature and society.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the course "Нuman Geography."
2. Knowledge of theories and concepts of historical development of society.
3. Basic skills in analyzing historical development and correlating temporal and spatial evolution.
Course content
Methodological approaches and criteria for identifying historical and geographical stages of socio-geographical development are proposed. The characteristics of socio-geographical development in specific historical and geographical periods are provided. The principles of historical and geographical analysis and the synthesis of knowledge about society’s development are explored.
The necessity of a coordinated study of changes in nature and society within a given territory from a long-term temporal perspective is emphasized. The peculiarities of the functioning of socio-geographical research objects are examined through the identification of genetic development sequences of socio-geographical components of a territory. A comprehensive analysis of nature, population, economy, and their interactions within a specific territory over a defined period is conducted.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam.
Semester assessment: the number of points that a student receives during the semester is the sum of the points that were received when evaluating the work in seminars and performing thematic tests.
Organization of assessment: Work in seminars is assessed by performance, in accordance with the schedule of seminars. Thematic tests are carried out in the form of a test.
