Learning outcomes
The objective of studying the discipline is to acquire and deepen knowledge about: the ability to exercise one's rights and obligations as a member of society, to realize the values of a civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of man and citizen in Ukraine; the ability to think critically, synthesize and analyze the territorial organization of the economy; the ability to apply knowledge and understanding of the main characteristics, processes, history of regional social development and the composition of the geographical envelope; the ability to establish the role and place of Ukraine in the modern world in the context of geographical factors of its development, to analyze and explain the features of the geospatial organization of nature, population and economy of Ukraine, to understand and explain the strategy of its sustainable development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses "Socio-Economic Geography of Ukraine", "Social Geography", "Social Geography", "Theories of Location and Regional Economy", as well as knowledge of the methodological principles of socio-geographical research, the main socio-geographical organizations, centers and schools in Ukraine.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at developing competence in using modern approaches to analyze the effectiveness of territorial organization of the economy and the implementation of regional socio-economic policy using the methodological principles of socio-geographical research.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 substantive parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. During the semester, after completing the relevant substantive modules, thematic written tests are conducted. The maximum number of points awarded for the 1st and 2nd thematic parts is 30 points. The discipline ends with a test. The maximum number of points for the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the test). Students who have scored a total of less points than the critical minimum of 20 points are not allowed to take the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points.
