Learning outcomes
The objective of studying the discipline is to provide students with knowledge about the current state and prospects for the development of the transport complex and the consumer market of Ukraine, namely: the ability to research regional markets for food and non-food products and the development of transport infrastructure; the ability to identify, formulate and solve problems of the functioning of the transport complex and trade of Ukraine and the world; the ability to analyze the functional structure of the transport complex and trade of Ukraine; the ability to generalize materials from field observations on the functioning of transport and trade in Ukraine and its individual regions, reporting on their results; the ability to appropriately and critically use geographical concepts, concepts, paradigms, theories, ideas, principles to explain phenomena and processes at different spatial levels (global, regional, national, local).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the courses “Socio-economic geography of Ukraine”, “Social geography”, “Economic geography”, “Geography of population and settlement”, “Theories of location and regional economy”; be able to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the features of natural and social processes in the geographical envelope, develop, manage and control projects of a geographical and interdisciplinary focus, evaluate and ensure the quality of work, be able to carry out a comprehensive assessment and monitoring of resources, predict the development of geographical processes and phenomena.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at gaining knowledge about the functions of transport and trade in a market economy, their significance and role in the implementation of state regional policy, patterns and factors of development and placement of transport and trade in Ukraine and its components at the level of individual regions. Geographical problems of spatial organization of the transport system and trade of Ukraine are presented. Theoretical and methodological principles of the study of transport and trade, the history of their development, main indicators, features of functioning, the role and significance of individual types in the international division of labor and the structure of the national economy of Ukraine are considered. The influence of transport and infrastructure networks and systems on the formation of geopolitics and geostrategy of regions of the world, territorial organization of production, spatial socio-economic proportions and settlement systems in Ukraine is considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 substantive parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with a test. During the semester, after completing the relevant substantive modules, written module tests are conducted. The maximum number of points awarded for the 1st and 2nd substantive modules is 30 points. The discipline ends with an oral test. The maximum number of points for the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the test). Students who have scored a total of fewer points than the critical minimum of 20 points are not allowed to take the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 35 points.
