Learning outcomes
The objectives of the discipline are to determine the coordinates of the European integration and Euro-Atlantic strategies (and the connection between them) of Ukraine's international cooperation in three main dimensions: geopolitical, economic and security, and to deepen the study of geopolitical versions of sovereignty, "buffer" and multi-vector geopolitical positioning of Ukraine with the acquired skills to exercise one's rights and obligations as a member of society, to realize the values of a civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development; to understand the leading factors, the influences and role of which are important to consider for establishing Ukraine as a serious geopolitical actor on the world stage with a strong and clear geopolitical and geoeconomic positioning as a state.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Historical and geographical foundations of the formation of a political map of the world", "Geography of international mobility", "Methods of country studies and political and geographical research".
2. Be able to apply simple quantitative and qualitative methods in the study of geosystems and processes in them;
3. Know and apply geographical concepts, concepts, paradigms, theories, ideas, principles to explain phenomena and processes at different spatial
levels (global, regional, national, local).
Course content
This academic discipline is dedicated to the study of theoretical and practical material for revealing the essence and fundamental features of the geopolitical and geoeconomic positioning of the state, in particular Ukraine, in world processes of various hierarchical levels (regional, global). The discipline is aimed at forming in students special professional, social and personal competencies, accumulation of knowledge regarding the possibility of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources, the ability to identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of applied political and geographical research, in particular the study of sovereignty, “bufferness” or multi-vector geopolitical and geoeconomic positioning, problems of strategic partnership of countries, the essence of factors of bilateral and multilateral relations in state strategies of foreign policy. Separate components of the discipline are the study of the image component of the geopolitical and geoeconomic positioning of Ukraine in the processes of international interaction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, discussion, solving specific problems and situations
Assessment methods and criteria
The course includes 2 substantive parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars, solving specific problems and situations, and an individual task is required, which is performed in the format of creative analytical work and submitted in the form of a presentation. Upon completion of the work on the two substantive parts, a coursework defense is held. The discipline ends with an exam. During the semester, after completing the relevant topics, thematic written tests with open questions or in the form of tests are conducted. To determine the level of achievement of learning outcomes, students present the results of their scientific research and demonstrate the acquired skills.
