Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the history of the formation and modern theoretical and source base of medical geography, the patterns of development of the subject area of ​​sciences, their inherent theories, paradigms, concepts and principles; to form in them the concept of the object, subject and methods of research in medical and recreational geography, the peculiarities of the influence of individual components of the environment on human health and leading a healthy lifestyle, and the principles of social responsibility and ecological thinking.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the discipline "Social Geography", "Economic Geography", "Geographical and Regional Studies". 2. Possess mathematical and statistical methods and skills of analysis, synthesis, situation modeling, forecasting, comparison, and drawing up map schemes. 3. Have skills in working with cartographic sources, computer programs MS Word, MS Excel, and software for using the Internet.
Course content
The course covers the history of the development of medical geography in the world, the history of medical and geographical research in Ukraine, factors of morbidity and population health, medical infrastructure and provision of medical personnel in Ukraine, regional analysis of morbidity and population health in Ukraine, and comparative characteristics of morbidity in the population of Ukraine and European countries.

Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of work in seminars, writing 2 final tests, passing presentations, group tasks. The specific weight of learning outcomes in the final assessment, provided that they are mastered at the appropriate level, is as follows: learning outcomes – 1 (knowledge) – up to 40%; learning outcomes – 2 (skills) – up to 40%; learning outcomes – 3 (communication) – up to 10%; learning outcomes – 4 (autonomy and responsibility) – up to 10%. The recommended minimum for admission to the exam is 36 points: the student must take part in at least a third of the seminars, pass a presentation and write both tests. The exam is conducted in writing in the form of extended and test tasks.
