Learning outcomes
To know the consequences of the globalization process: positive and negative; the nature, role and goals of international communication; activities of the main subjects of international communication; mechanisms and tools of "communication for development". Be able to identify the characteristics, development trends and threats of today's globalized world; identify and characterize global problems by areas; generate possible communication solutions for global development and determine the participation of the international community in solving the problem; to analyze Ukraine's participation in international programs and projects on global development. To gain basic communication skills by participating in or organizing discussions on ways and mechanisms of using international communication to solve today's global problems; in the process of finding information as a result of voluntary, mutual exchange of information between interested participants.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the theory of international communications; regularities and features of changes in the modern globalized world, negative consequences and challenges of informatization and globalization processes; understand the role of international organizations and other actors in international relations in solving global problems of the world; have knowledge of international law. 2. To be able to work with information sources, analyze communication processes and write information materials.
Course content
Module 1. Basic dimensions of the concept of international communication for development Topic 1. History and current trends in international communication. Topic 2. Objectives, goals and tools of international communication for development. Topic 3. Features of the subjects of international communication Topic 4. Organizational and regulatory framework for the development of international communication Module 2. The role of international communication in the global development of mankind: a practical dimension. Topic 5. Global problems of mankind at the present stage of development. Topic 6. International communication for achieving the goals of sustainable development Topic 7. The role of international communication in the global development of mankind: a practical dimension. Ukraine's participation in international programs and projects on global development.

Lectures, seminars, case study, individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: 1. modular test (20 points / 10 points). 2. reports on the plan for seminars (30 points / 25 points). 3. case project (10 points / 5 points). - final evaluation: 1. form of assessment - exam; 2. the maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student - 40 points.
