Learning outcomes
1. To know and understand the nature, sources and directions of evolution of international relations and foreign policy of states, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics.
2. Critically comprehend and analyze global processes and their impact on international relations and foreign policy of individual states.
3. Apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and techniques to study the problems of international relations and foreign policy.
4. Analyze and evaluate problems of international and national security, international and international conflicts, approaches, methods and mechanisms of security in the international space and in foreign policy.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the main theoretical problems of international political science, methods of research of its object; stages of transformation of the phenomenon of international relations and paradigms of its research; basic principles of systematic analysis of the phenomenon of international relations.
To be able to use the theoretical provisions of international political science to analyze international relations and world politics; use a systematic approach to the analysis of international political issues; to generalize and systematize the main provisions and conclusions of world scientific thought on international relations; to implement a systematic vision of the political system at the global and regional levels.
To possess basic skills to test numerous theories of international relations at the system level on the basis of the functioning of the system of international relations in the period 1945-1991.

Topic 1. Post-war settlement: its features in Europe and the Far East.
Topic 2. The beginning of the Cold War and the formation of a bipolar structure of international relations.
Topic 3. The German problem in international relations.
Topic 4. The USSR and the United States in the process of transforming the global system of international relations.
Topic 5. Eastern European countries in international relations.
Topic 6. The Yugoslav crisis in international relations.
Topic 7. International relations in the Middle East (1950-1990's).
Topic 8. US foreign policy in 1980-1991.
Topic 9. International relations in the Far East.
Topic 10. International relations in Southeast Asia.
Topic 11. South Asia in international relations.
Topic 12. The Afghan issue in international relations.
Topic 13. African countries in international relations.
Topic 14. Latin America in international relations.
