Learning outcomes
To know:
key documents and organizations in the field of international energy relations;
main features of the participation of Ukraine in different international energy regimes;
impact of the main features of the energy sector on its international legal regulation;
To be able to:
logically and professionally justify and express his view on issues of international energy law;
analyze the interests of participants of international cooperation in the energy sector and their reflection in the rules of international law;
use the acquired knowledge to protect the interests of the state, international organizations, individuals in international energy relations.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To now the basics of public international law (basics of theory, general institutions and branches).
2. To be able to analyze and establish the content of the rights and obligations of international actors
law, apply the rules and principles of international law, as well as decisions
international courts to address specific issues, analyze and establish content
acts of legislation of Ukraine
3. Possess basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical
thinking, elaboration of a significant array of legal material with the provision of their own
conclusions and suggestions

Thematic plan of the discipline:
1. Definition of international energy law.
2. Place of international energy law in the system of international law.
3. International legal remedies against the risk of disruption of energy supplies.
4. International organizations in the field of energy.
5. Energy Charter Treaty. Energy Charter Process.
6. Energy Community
7. International legal aspects of peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
8. EU Energy law

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 30 points), additions (up to 5 points), written assignment (up to 5 points), final modular test (up to 10 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points.
