Learning outcomes
Know the history, sources, principles, subjects of International Sea Law, as well as features of international responsibility and implementation of international legal norms; Know the universal and regional mechanisms of legal regulation of cooperation between states in the field of sea service, as well as the peculiarities of implementation of international legal norms in the field of sea service at the national level;
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the bases of International Public Law (Fundamental Theory), International Public Law (Basic Areas and Institutes), Law of International Treaties. 2. Ability to analyze and establish the content of rights and obligations of international sea law subjects in accordance with the provisions of certain international sea agreements; to apply the rules and principles of the international sea law, as well as the decisions of international institutions to solve specific problems, in particular to improve the current legislation of Ukraine. 3. Have the basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, working out of a considerable amount of legal material while providing one’s own conclusions and proposals.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. international sea law as subsystem of international law and academic discipline 2. Classification of marine spaces 3. Research and protection of the marine environment 4. Maritime activities of states and security at sea 5. Liability in international sea law 6. Institutional and treaty mechanisms of international sea law.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 30 points), additions (up to 5 points), written assignment (up to 5 points), final modular test (up to 10 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points.
