Learning outcomes
To know the definition of «international law»; characteristics of public international law, its scope; nature of the legally binding force of international law; sources of international law; amplification of the range of sources of international law and the related problems of the legal regulation of international relations; the main principles of international law; universalism and regionalism of international law; subjects of international law; the law of international treaties; population in international law; international legal concept of human rights; international legal mechanisms for the international human rights protection; international legal framework for combating crime; international criminal law; the concept of territory in international law and its forms; foundations of international law of international security; foundations of international humanitarian law

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- To know the theoretical basics of international law as the main regulator of international relations, the peculiarities of the formation of its norms, and the problematic issues of the theory and practice of the development of international law in the current circumstances, legal instruments to ensure respect for the rule of law in international law, mechanisms for the implementation of international law, the foundations of international legal responsibility; - To be able to use the concepts and categories of international law, to define its proper place in the international system, to make an international legal assessment of international phenomena in their dynamics and, in the light of that assessment, to create patterns of legal conduct; - To have basic skills in analysing international relations and forecasting their development on the basis of international law, taking into account a combination of political and legal factors

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 48 points), written assignment (up to 22 points), final modular test (up to 30 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points.
