Acquisition by students of theoretical knowledge about the main legal means of disputes settlement in EU law; types of proceedings before the European Court of Justice; the procedure for resolving disputes in EU courts; to acquire practical skills on the procedure of protection of rights in the EU.

Knowledge the basics of EU law; EU legal protection system; EU institutional mechanism, content of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement; ability to analyze and draw legal conclusions on various areas of international economic cooperation of Ukraine with other states and international organizations; basic skills in resolving disputes, applying the provisions of the founding treaties of the EU; determine the scope of the EU founding treaties and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. The system of judicial institutions in the European Union. 2. Legal basis of the preliminary ruling procedure in the EU. 3. Proceedings for enforcement of obligations. 4. Procedure for appealing against illegal activities of EU institutions. 5. Proceedings on the repeal of illegitimate EU regulations. 6. Dispute settlement mechanisms in the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union

Lecture, seminar, solving practical cases, performing tasks of independent work

Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 30 points), additions (up to 5 points), case studies (up to 35 points), independent work (up to 15 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is a credit which is carried out in the form of an oral recitation.
