Learning outcomes
Acquisition by students of the necessary methodological knowledge and practical skills in the field of legal migration in the European Union, which allows the application of acquired knowledge in relations with foreign elements.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge the basics of EU law; EU legal protection system; EU institutional mechanism, content of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement; ability to analyze and draw legal conclusions on various areas of international economic cooperation of Ukraine with other states and international organizations; basic knowledge regarding regulation of migration processes, applying the provisions of the founding treaties of the EU in the sphere of migration; determine the scope of the EU founding treaties and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. Formation and development of migration law in the EU. 2. Organizational and legal mechanism for regulating migration processes in the EU. 3. The right to free movement and residence as a fundamental right of EU citizens. 4. Migration rights of certain categories of EU citizens. 5. Migration rights of family members of EU citizens. 6. Schengen acquis of the European Union. 7. Legal basis of visa policy in the EU. 8. Legal regulation of the common EU immigration policy. 9. Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of migration.

Lecture, seminar, solving practical cases, performing tasks of independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 40 points), additions (up to 5 points), case studies (up to 10 points), independent work (up to 5 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is a credit which is carried out in the form of an oral recitation.
