Learning outcomes
Have the theoretical knowledge about: the terms "EU foreign relations law", "exclusive, joint, complementary and special competence of the EU and the Member States", "common foreign and security policy", "common security and defense policy", "common trade policy"; the concept and subject of EU foreign relations law; the concept of organizational and legal mechanism of foreign relations of the European Union and the characteristics of its components; powers of EU institutions in the field of foreign relations; legal instruments for the implementation of the common foreign and security policy of the European Union; the main directions of the EU common defense policy at the present stage; Be able: analyze the provisions of the EU founding treaties; to understand the peculiarities of the division of competences between the EU and the Member States in various matters of external relations and to determine the bodies competent in specific areas of external relations;

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "EU Law of foreign relations" works closely with the cycle of disciplines of theoretical, professional and practical training, in particular, courses such as "Public International Law", "History of International Relations", "Law of international treaties", "Law of the European Union". "Law of International Organizations", as well as such disciplines of specialization "European Law" as "EU Institutional Law", "Fundamental Freedoms of the EU Internal Market", "Common Trade Policy of EU".
In addition to the basic concepts of international law, the student must understand the legal nature of the EU, the structure of EU law, have knowledge of the organizational and legal mechanism of the EU and the legal basis for the division of competence between the EU and its member states.

1. Introduction to EU foreign relations law. Competence of the European Union in the field of foreign relations. International legal personality of the European Union
2. Organizational and legal mechanism for regulating the external relations of the European Union
3. Common foreign and security policy of the European Union
4. Common security and defense policy of the European Union
5. Other forms of EU involvement in foreign relations

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 25 points), additions (up to 15 points), independent work (up to 36 points), final modular test (up to 24 points).
The form of final control is a credit which is carried out in the form of written recitation.
