Maintain working contacts with representatives of other countries and cultures; consider the international political context when performing professional tasks; to identify and take into account foreign national and group interests.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the basics of history, international relations, foreign policy, economics and law. Ability to analyze the principles and characteristics of functioning of political, economic and legal systems of states in the world. Have the basic skills of political analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, working out of a considerable amount of factual material while providing one’s own conclusions and proposals in informational and analytical research. Have high proficiency in English.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: Theme 1. Specific characteristics of development of the European and North American countries. Theme 2. Main features of the development of countries of the Post-Soviet area. Theme 3. Latin American countries: main features of the political, economic and cultural development. Theme 4. Peculiarities and main trends in development of the Asian and African countries.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final score is counted according to the results of the student’s work during the semester. When receiving the total number of points from 60 and above, the student gets a credit. Students who got less than 20 points are not allowed to pass a credit. If a student has got less than 60 scores for the results of his or her work during semester, passing the credit in writing is obligatory. If a student has got 60 or more scores for the results of his or her work during the semester, but wants to get more, he or she has a right to pass a credit orally and an opportunity to get more scores. A student will be given 5 questions from the list of questions for seminars to pass a credit.
