Learning outcomes
To know the main features and concepts of the information society; features of innovation and technological progress in modern society; properties of state information policy as a component of domestic and foreign policy of the countries and as a factor of national security; subjects, objects and mechanisms of information policy implementation of the countries. Be able to determine the information potential of the countries around the world; to define and characterize the peculiarities of the information policy of the countries of the world; to establish correspondence between the models of information policy of the countries and their characteristics; to carry out the complex analysis of prospects and lacks of information policy of Ukraine; evaluate, summarize and systematize knowledge on borrowing the experience of advanced countries to improve the effectiveness of information policy of Ukraine.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- To know the basic concepts of information society theories; regularities and features of changes in the modern globalized world, negative consequences and challenges of informatization and globalization processes; understand the features of innovation and information development of the countries; have knowledge of international law. - To be able to work with information sources, analyze communication processes and write information materials.
Course content
Module 1. Theoretical-conceptual and applied dimensions of the state information policy Topic 1. Historical, innovative, globalization, security and regulatory prerequisites for the formation of the state information policy. Topic 2. Properties, principles and directions of the state information policy. Topic 3. Models of the information policy of the countries. Topic 4. International indices and ratings on the development of the information society as an indicator of the effectiveness of information policy.

Lectures, seminars, case study, individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: 1. modular test (20 points / 10 points). 2. reports on the plan for seminars (30 points / 25 points). 3. case project (10 points / 5 points). - final evaluation: 1. form of assessment - exam; 2. the maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student - 40 points;
