Learning outcomes
1. To know and master theoretical knowledge about:
Verbals: Participle I, Participle II, Participial Constructios. Modal verbs in the second function. Modal verbs in subzero suggestions and in suggestions with a double denial.
2. To practice the skills of:
Orthographically correct write lexical units of the active vocabulary.
Read and ask logical questions on the content of the read text, retell the original text of medium difficulty, containing 8-10% of unfamiliar words.
To translate texts from English into Ukrainian and vice versa (on the studied grammar and vocabulary) in the amount of 25 sentences for 2 academic hours.
3. Identify and comment on the use of learned grammatical phenomena in written text and oral speech. Conduct a conversation on everyday, socio-cultural and socio-political topics. Make reports and announcements based on read journalistic and professional texts, as well as texts presented by the speaker.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) a. operate with knowledge, skills and abilities previously formed during the study of the discipline "English language";
b) to form a basic lexical words hoard and phrases belonging to the general scientific and scientific-sectoral lexical systems; 2) Be able to:
a) work with different types of dictionaries and sources of scientific information (including electronic);
b) develop the grammatical skills needed for listerning, speaking, reading and writing;
c) distinguish between academic and general (unofficial) vocabulary;
d) argue the choice of ways to solve professional problems, critically evaluate the results obtained and justify the decisions made;
3) Have basic skills:
a) navigate in the original scientific and professional literature, which provides the ability to translate, understand, find the necessary information, reflect and annotate the read text;
b) critically evaluate the results obtained and justify the decisions made

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Two content modules, each of 10 points - 20 points;
2. Current control of progress: vocabulary – 10 points, grammar – 10 points, texts – 10 points, written assignments – 10 points: 40 points in total;
3. Comprehensive final module: dictation or reproduction – 10 points; vocabulary control/ conversational topics – 10 points; vocabulary and grammar test – 20 points: 40 points in total.
