Learning outcomes
To know the general characteristics of the system of international information relations and trends in modern processes in the field of information and communication; the essence of concepts and models of international cooperation in the field of information and communication and features of the information policy of the main actors of international information relations; the practice of implementation of international information policy at the global, regional and national levels. To be able to carry out a comparative analysis of national strategies for the development of the information society; substantiate the benefits of building a global information society and determine the negative consequences of the development and dissemination of information technology. To decide independently the optimal way to solve the problem. Evaluate the results of their own work and be responsible for the decision.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- To know the basic concepts of information society theories, features of globalization, the activities of international organizations in the field of information and communication. - To be able to work with information sources, analyze communication processes and write information materials.
Course content
Module 1. Current trends and features of the world information society. Module 2. Consequences of the transformation of the world community into a new information formation: problems and ways to solve them.

Assessment methods and criteria
- semester assessment: 1. modular test (20 points / 10 points). 2. reports on the plan for seminars (50 points / 35 points). 3. case project (10 points / 5 points). - final evaluation: 1. form of assessment - credit; 2. the maximum number of points that can be obtained by a student - 20 points; 3. the credit is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester.
