Learning outcomes
The discipline is devoted to the study of such issues as the concept and history of diplomacy and diplomatic service, establishment of diplomatic relations, establishment of diplomatic missions, accreditation of diplomatic agents, structure and functions of diplomatic missions, classes, ranks and positions of diplomats, privileges and immunities of diplomats and other staff members. , establishment of consular relations, opening of consular offices, appointment of consular staff, peculiarities of appointment and status of freelance consular officials, functions of consular posts, consular privileges and immunities, institute of special missions in modern diplomatic practice, functions, privileges and immunities of special missions and their staff, institute of missions to international organizations, functions, privileges and immunities of missions to international organizations and members of their staff

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have general knowledge of the history of international relations and the history of Ukraine in particular.
Be able to analyze the dynamics of interstate diplomatic cooperation.
Possess basic skills of political analysis, analysis of international situations and forecasting

Topic 1. The concept of diplomacy and diplomatic service. The system of foreign relations.
Topic 2. Establishment of diplomatic relations and opening of diplomatic missions.
Topic 3. Diplomatic representation: structure and functions.
Topic 4. Diplomatic privileges and immunities. Sectoral diplomacy.
Topic 5. Establishment of consular relations. Opening of consular offices. Consular functions.
Topic 6. Special missions as a tool of diplomacy. The practice of multilateral diplomacy.
Topic 7. Methods and means of diplomatic communication
Topic 8. Protocol support of the diplomatic service
