Learning outcomes
know the essence and content of the basic concepts and categories of "Economics", types of economic systems and categories of their classification; essence and features of market economic system; interaction of competition and monopoly in a market economy; contradictions of internationalization of economic relations, main micro- and macroeconomic indicators; regulatory functions of the state in a market economy; distinguish the components of the system of economic activity: microeconomics, macroeconomics, mesoeconomics, megaeconomics; to systematize and generalize information on the content and directions of transformations of the world economic system in the conditions of global turbulence; explain and justify the need to implement the approaches of different economic schools and areas
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
To be able to apply basic concepts and solve problems using certain rules and algorithms using a set of tools.
To have basic skills of structured division of tasks into components, skills of educational activities, the ability to use mathematical methods to solve a wide range of problems.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline:
Introduction to Economics. Subject, methodology and principles
The economic system of society and property as its basis
Forms of organization of social production. Commodity production and money.
Theoretical foundations of a market economic system
Production and market costs of commodity production
Competition and monopoly in a market economic system
Capital and its functions. Factors of production markets.
Instability of economic development and fluctuations in economic activity: economic cycles, unemployment, inflation
Public sector of the economy: taxes, government spending and public debt
The essence and functions of money. Money and banks
Economic policy: essence, typesб and contradictions
International aspects of economics
Regularities, trends, and problems of development of the modern world economy

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 20 points), written assignment (up to 20 points), modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is an exam. The exam is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the exam – up to 40 points.
