To know and understand the nature of international relations and regional development, evolution, the state of theoretical research of international relations and world politics, as well as the nature and sources of state policy in the international arena and the activities of other participants in international relations. Know and understand the nature and dynamics of international security, understand the features of its provision at the global, regional and national levels, know the nature and approaches to resolving international and international conflicts. Investigate the problems of international relations, regional development, foreign policy, international communications, using modern political, economic and legal theories and concepts, scientific methods and interdisciplinary approaches, present research results, provide appropriate recommendations.

- To know theoretical aspects and main regulation tools for various form of international relations. - To be able to analyze reasons and effects of chronology events. - To have basic skills of searching and analysis of documents, analytical information and statistical data sources. - To know English or other foreign languages for better opportunities for review of specific researches, international documents and sources.

Module 1. A systematic approach to the study of international relations. 1. International relations and world politics as a discipline. The purpose and objectives of the course. 2. A systematic approach to the study of international relations. 3. World War I and its consequences. 4. Formation of the Versailles-Washington system of postwar world order. 5. World War II and its consequences. Module 2. International relations and world politics in the conditions of post-bipolarity. 1. Transformation of the global international system and the formation of a post-bipolar world. 2. Europe in modern international relations. 3. Leadership and criteria for leadership in world politics. Transformation of the place and role of the United States, China and Russia in international relations. 4. Regions of the modern world in the context of globalization. Middle East system of international relations. 5. Transformation of the post-Soviet space.

Lectures, seminars, case studies, discussions, essays.

1. Oral answers, comments, blitz poll, discussion, problems – up to 30 points. 2. Tasks for individual work (case study presentation) – up to 10 points. 3.Two modules control work – up to 20 points.
