PR02. Be able to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances of inorganic, organic and biological origin, using appropriate methods.
PR03. Be able to calculate the composition of nutrient media, determine the features of their preparation and sterilization, to control the quality of raw materials and finished products based on knowledge of the physicochemical properties of organic and inorganic substances. PR06. Be able to determine and analyze the basic physicochemical properties of organic compounds that are part of biological agents (proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids). PR14. Be able to justify the choice of biological agent, composition of the culture medium and method of cultivation, necessary auxiliary works and the main stages of the technological process.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the disciplines "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Biochemistry", "Microbiology". 2. 2) Ability to independently apply knowledge of bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry and other disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Possession of elementary skills of work in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
The discipline "Biotechnology of biologically active substances" is a subject of students' free choice, taught in the 1st semester of the 3rd year and is intended to form basic knowledge of the chemical structure and synthesis of biologically active substances, namely: vitamins, secondary metabolites of plant origin, hormones, their active forms and functions in the human body; to teach to work in the laboratory to master the skills and abilities to perform experimental research, to analyze the target products of biotechnological production of biologically active substances.
