Learning outcomes
PO01. Be able to apply modern mathematical methods to solve practical problems related to the research and design of biotechnological processes. To use knowledge of physics to analyze biotechnological processes. PO15. Based on knowledge of the laws of mechanical, hydromechanical, heat and mass transfer processes and basic design features, be able to choose the appropriate equipment in the design of biotechnological products for various purposes to ensure their maximum efficiency. PO17. To be able to draw up a material balance sheet for one cycle of the production process, equipment specification and a stage control map with production control points. PO18. To be able to justify and select appropriate technological equipment and graphically depict the technological process in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents using the knowledge gained during practical training.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the courses "Molecular Biology", "Biochemistry". Be able to independently use knowledge performing laboratory and practical work, work with scientific and methodological literature. Have basic skills in working with materials and equipment used in biological and biotechnological laboratories
Course content
The discipline "Processes and apparatus of biotechnological production" covers the study of modern methods of biology and biotechnology in order to acquaint students with the basic concepts and basic principles of biotechnological production. In the course of studying the discipline the practical application and significance of certain methods in biotechnology is given or demonstrated.
